I have met a few women in person that I first talked to in chatrooms.
I guess you just have to remember that you really don't "know" someone until you spend some time with them. (in person that is).
Maybe it is just that we put a picture of someone in our mind...a picture of how "we" want that person to be.
I met someone a couple weeks ago that I had talked to for almost a year online.  We had gotten along so well on the computer that I just knew we would make a great couple.
WRONG.... She was nothing like I expected and I'm sure she felt the same of me.
I made a good friend and will keep chatting and having fun.

I have met at least five guys from my state in person.
My friend is talking to someone in Argentina !  She is
determined that this guy is the love of her life.. maybe I'm wrong but....... she scares me.
She has only been talking to him for 3 months and is planning
to send him the $ to come to visit !

I have to add my two cents worth...I started chatting about 8 years ago.  I was just looking for friends.  I even got a paying job with the chat site...before it went dot bomb!  But, because I met my husband there, we had to keep it going.  Yes, we've been very happily together for almost 6 years now after meeting in The (now bankrupt) Park.

I met a couple of guys off the internet, the first was a rebound thing and he was ok, a bit full of himself though anyway now im with this guy who i have been with for 2and a half years we also have a 1year old baby.
I can honestly say that he never pretended to be anything other than he was, after all we were never intending to get it together and weren't even chatting each other up online, we were just chatting!

I have met 2 people online.  One was a great friend who helped me a great deal (emotionally) when my mother was in the hospital.  His wife was a nurse, and I got along well with her also.  Unfortunately I wasn't able to meet her, due to circumstances.  He and I met strictly as friends.  Ended the meeting with a hug and a kiss on the cheek :-)

The 2nd one wasn't quite as good.  I met a man that I got along extremely well with, and ended up giving everything up to move to another state so we could be together.  I didn't stay long, because he was different in person... and I don't mean looks, I am talking about personality.  He kept comparing me to his latest ex-wife (he had 3 ex-wives), and I have a suspicion he was still not over her.

Wow, I've never bothered to meet anyone. never bothered to chat and only found this BB by chance. But, the tales.....you don't need a computer to meet the strange people... they will pop up every where but the good side is the happiness and joy that people have found... for all the bad there is a lot of very good.
