I talked to (thrillride33) in a yahoo chatroom. He told me he was 33, single and from Billings, Montana. We had talked for a couple months when he told me that it was his birthday soon. (March 13th). I live in Washington state and he had promised to visit this spring. Thinking that there may be some possibility of a relationship here I decided to send Kevin a birthday present. He had always talked about wanting a digital camera and like an ass I went out and bought him one.
I shipped the camera to the address of the place that I thought he worked. He had talked openly about his job at this place, so I didn't think twice about sending the package there. About the time that he should have received my gift... he disappeared from the computer. OR at least changed his name..
I called the business where I had sent the package and they told me that he didn't work there, that he was a friend of the owner. I later talked to the owner and all he would say was that he had given the package to Kevin. I feel like such an ass for spending that kind of money on someone that I really didnt know.
Needless to say I still havent heard from him or seen him on the computer.
I guess I learned a costly lesson...
