I married my wife in 1992. She had a three year old son from her
previous marriage. She told me she left him because he was abusive
(mentally and physically) toward her. She said he beat her regularly
and she told her son she was leaving daddy because he yelled at mommy
all the time.
I came along after she had moved out on her own and we became an item.
Before long, she started having screaming fits that she said I caused
by not being attentive enough or not validating her feelings or some
such. The attacks were severe and often lead to violence. Her attacks
on me were triggered by some pretty odd things...Me reading a
newspaper...or sitting while she was standing...and sometimes I never
knew what triggered them.
I left her many times...or rather I was chased off. I kept coming
back when she would promise to get help, and she often did get help.
She went to several counsellors and psychiatrists and MD's and she
has been on a massive dose of Prozac for two years now.
I have stuck with her through hard times and was ready for some good
times. She recently graduated nursing school and is aN RN at a large
local hospital...we were looking good.
Then, it came time for her 20th high school reunion. There was a
flurry of emails, making preparations. In one of the emails with a
list of classmates, she found her old high school boyfriend.
They started emailing, then instant messaging, then calling on the
cellphone...the usual story. I tracked every move from the first love
note till the minute she spread her legs for him in a hotel room over
thanksgiving.
I went through the whole scenario, trying to make her stop. I
confronted, begged, pleaded, cried...everything I could do to make
her stop...it didn't work. Needless to say, I was angry, hurt,
betrayed etc...you know the rest.
I have filed a restraining order based on the past violence, filed
for a divorce based on adultery, habitual cruel and inhuman
treatment, and irreconciliable differences. I have custody of our
kids (I adopted her son, and we have two daughters together, ages 5
and
I have decided to help anyone I can, catch the cheaters in their
